Koren Sherrick

Koren joined the SVP Tucson board of directors in 2020, and serves as a coach and a member of the Fast Pitch selection committee. At SVP Tucson she has been on the investment committee and has served as Fast Pitch mentor. Originally from Chicago and raised in Tucson, Koren is currently the Vice President of Payor Contracting for VillageMD nationally. She was formerly with Humana for 13 years negotiating healthcare contracts and building physician networks.

Koren attended the University of Arizona where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics and a MPA from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management. Koren’s passion for teamwork and making communities healthier carries over from the volleyball court, as well as her work in healthcare. In her professional role, Koren represents a primary care model which holistically views patients and their needs both inside and outside the walls of the exam room. Additionally, she focuses on increasing patient access into underserved areas.

A resident of Tucson for 44 years, Koren maintains her family’s tradition of philanthropy and civic leadership. Advisory Council for Southern Arizona Special Olympics, Dollars for Scholars for Sunnyside School District, and Treasurer on the Board at the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault are a few highlights of previous service. She believes in access to a high-quality education for all and through her work with Sunnyside she saw that when given proper support, students graduate at higher rates and are instilled with the desire to be lifelong learners. Her advocacy for vulnerable populations is reinforced her commitment to looking beyond the surface to see that there are often solutions for community needs waiting to be acted on.

Other interests that complement Koren’s well-being journey are: Family, friends, vegan cooking (and eating), tennis, motorcycles, sustainability, animal advocacy and connecting with nature.
